I have friends who refuse to believe Soma Prime no longer holds the "kingpin" title for rifles, friends who bounce back and forth between it and other primaries, and others who absolutely hate the Soma Prime or the above reasons.Necessary cookies are absolutely essential for the website to function properly. I found it overall unappealing with how it looks, how it functions, and while the stats are good and it's a great weapon, it serves a better purpose in pushing through most of the star chart and introducing the player to other types of rifles with more optimal stats on enemies it struggles with.Īt the end of the day though, it's up to the player and how they want to play. It has nice ammo economy, but it felt too much of a "press-left-click-once-and-never-have-to-let-go" which is fine for some people who actually enjoy being able to mow down enemies without much effort. I found the recoil absolutely abhorrent, the crits were nice but I had weapons that outshone it. Only to be sorely disappointed with it, even after putting a fair number of forma on it and throwing the optimal mods on it. I spent a lot of time farming for it, trying to trade for its parts, and when I finally got it I cheered and excitedly put it on. I used to aim for the Soma Prime back in the day, because everyone's hype of how ungodly it was. because everything gets the same Damage/Crit Multipliers. i'd still use Vigilante Armaments though since it would make for higher average Damage.Įverything deals more Damage with Harrow or Banshee, at an equal level. still weaker than Vigilante Armaments but increases Crit reliability a bit to compensate. Hunter Munitions works well with Weapons that have mid-high of both, not just one.Īnd congratulations for finding a Riven that's uh. while it has strong Crits, the Base Damage is just absolutely awful. Soma doesn't really benefit from Hunter Munitions hardly at all though. Not exactly, but it'll still perform fine either way. If combined with frames like Harrow or Banshee, it can become even more deadlier. While it may have the lowest of dispositions, the riven bumps up the critical chance, and slightly increases the damage, which is good considering the Soma Prime has a pretty low damage. With the right build, the Soma Prime can be just as powerful as any other current rifle, specially when we have mods like Hunter Munitions. So yeah, IS the Tiberon Prime the king now? YES! no argument about that, but it should not be a reason to toss the good ol Soma Prime aside. Note that i have a riven, but you can replace it with Argon Scope if you have that mod, or with any other mod of your preference. This is my updated Soma Prime build that can clean level 120 enemies with no problems (Cause the majority of the times, this is the level of enemies we are gonna find, so i did not put into consideration enemies higher than this level) I agree that the Soma Prime is no longer the king of Rifles, but it is still worth mentioning.
